Kathy (Biggerstaff) Toney

Kathy Biggerstaff Toney, 76 of Bostic, North Carolina  died Monday, July 25, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.   She was born December 27, 1945 to the late Norris and Lillie Mae Biggerstaff Rhodes.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Doug Toney and her precious granddaughter Abbie Toney.  

Kathy worked 41 years in the insurance business and retired from Main Street Financial Group in Forest City.  While working she met many people and built lasting relationships.  She loved her job and she loved helping others.  She was a kind and gentle person, who always kept a positive attitude and truly lived out her life verse from Philippians 4:8.  Kathy played the organ for many years at Concord Baptist Church.  She was an active and faithful member of her Sunday school class, WMU, and enjoyed helping with the good news club at Ellenboro School. Kathy was a true prayer warrior and she faithfully prayed for others.  She enjoyed reading her Bible with her morning cup of coffee. 

Kathy is survived by her son Kevin Toney of Ellenboro, her daughter Deborah Carpenter and husband Jay of Boiling Springs, North Carolina; her grandchildren Hunter Toney and Natalee Deaton; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Yvonne Biggerstaff of Ellenboro and special friend Glen Bailey of Forest City.  She also leaves behind many special friends and extended family members.

The funeral service will be held at 4:30 on Thursday, July 28, 2022 in Concord Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Laflin and Reverend Aubrey Folk officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3 until 4:15 in the Sanctuary prior to the service.  Interment will be private in the church cemetery for immediate family.  

Memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, Post Office Box 70, Bostic, North Carolina 28018 or any local charity of choice.
