Joyce Walker Matheny

Joyce Walker Matheny, age 81 of Forest City died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Joyce was born in Rutherford County on September 3, 1940, and was a daughter of the late Arthur Champion Walker and Mary Lula Hoy Walker.

Joyce was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and she worked in the office of Robbins Oil Company for 28 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parris Douglas Matheny and her son, Brian Douglas Matheny.

She is survived by her son, Scott Matheny of Forest City and a brother, Jerry Walker.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, June 6, 2022, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Keys Pendleton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
