Joy Honeycutt Turner, age 77 of Rutherfordton, died February 25, 2026 at Hospice House of Forest City.  Joy was born on January 26, 1949 in Rutherford County.  She was the daughter of the late William and Bernice Honeycutt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Rowe and her brothers, Rupert, Billy, and Charles Honeycutt.

Joy attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and worked for Rutherford County Schools for thirty-three and a half years.  She was the heart and soul of the Turner family.  Joy always showed kindness and generosity to everyone.  She was known for her wonderful cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Jerry Turner, their only daughter, Angela Sides (Tommy),  their granddaughter, Victoria Wantuch ( Zach), their grandsons, Anthony Helton (Courtney) and Sullivan Stevens, their great grandchildren Turner and Reese Wantuch, her sister, Gail Shields and a number of nieces and nephews, especially a very special niece, Denita Vickers.

The funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev.
