Obituary
Jonathan Stephen Hardin, 85, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was the son of James Archibald & Vera Mae Doggett Hardin. Steve was an Industrial Engineer until his retirement. He was married & totally devoted to his High School sweetheart, Mary Houser Hardin for 53 years. Steve was a man of many talents and interests in both the church and life as well as being a mentor to family and community. He enjoyed directing the church choir and singing in a barbershop quartet, model trains, camping, and many sports.
Steve is survived by his sons, Gary of Forest City, NC, David (Cindy) of Apex, NC, and Grant (Lora) of Rock Hill, SC, five grandchildren Jessica Fournier (Adam), Joshua, Hannah, Brandi Stroud (Steven), and Tyler, as well as 6 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 2 o’clock in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Eric Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the mortuary. Interment will be held privately for the family at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
