John Wayne McEntire, age 70, of Ellenboro, died, Sunday, February 11, 2018 at home surrounded by the love of his wife and three daughters. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Ralph McEntire and Irene Linder McEntire; he was a retired auto body painter from Southco in Shelby, he loved animals, raising his chickens, and his dog, Pepper Ann. John was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy McEntire, of the home, three daughters, Shelley Crocker and her husband Brian of Rutherfordton, Amy Caldwell and her husband Brian of Rutherfordton, Sharron Luckadoo and her husband Tony of Ellenboro, three brothers, Ralph McEntire, Jr. and wife of Bankok, Thailand, Marvin McEntire and his wife Selma of Cary, NC, Jerry McEntire of Forest City, a sister, Wilma Pearson and her husband Ron of Virginia Beach, and six grandchildren, Braxton and Chandler Crocker, Chase and Aubrey Elliott, Kaylyn and Wyatt Luckadoo.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018, at The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday evening at the mortuary. In accordance with John's wishes he will be cremated following the service.
