John Lee Grant, age 69 of Mooresboro died Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  John was born on December 19, 1955, in Rutherford County and was the son of the late John Crayton Grant and Mary Elizabeth Sansing Grant. 

John had worked for Gilkey Lumber Company as a night watchman and was a member of Chase Baptist Church until his health declined.  John loved his family, and he enjoyed old cars, drag racing, fishing and golf.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Laughter Grant of the home, his sons, John Michael Grant and wife Aleta of Rutherfordton, and David Scott Grant and wife Deana of Ellenboro, his four grandchildren, Cody Childers-Grant, Cory Childers-Grant, Tyler Bolick and Justin Bolick. There are also eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, November 6, 2025, in The Padgett and King Chapel, officiated by his grandson, Cory Childers-Grant.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service at the mortuary.
