John David “J D” Francis, 73, of Washington Street, Forest City, died Thursday, April 22, 2020 at Atrium Health-Charlotte. He was the son of the late John Perry Francis and Laura Anne Allen Francis. J D was a contractor for over fifty years and loved working with his hands. He loved Forest City and being a member of the community. J D was also a proud veteran serving in the United States Army and loved shopping in area thrift stores.
Survivors include his wife of fifty three years, Annette Wright Francis of the home; his son, Andy Francis and wife Sandra of Forest City, his granddaughter Hope Francis; brother, Charles Francis of Caroleen, NC, and sisters, Becky Greene Francis of Forest City, NC, and Patricia Francis of Dallas, NC.
