Joe Thompson Obituary

Joe Dean Thompson, age 59 of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was born August 12, 1961 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Robert and Ruby Daggerhart Thompson. Joe was a truck driver and a 1979 graduate of R-S Central High School, and a member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Thompson and Ricky Thompson, and four sisters, Barbara Cox, Sandra Hill, Cheryl Herrin and Doris Thompson.

Survivors include his son, Bobby Thompson of Salisbury, NC, a daughter, Deana Thompson of Florida, and two sisters, Wilma Hardin and husband, Randy, of Forest City and Brenda Roper and husband, Randy of Rutherfordton. Three grandchildren also survive.

The family will hold a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
