Joanne Thrift Obituary

Joanne Burleson Thrift age 66 of Forest City died Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Joanne was born February 1, 1956, in Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Louise Ballard Burleson. She was the deli manager of Ingles Market at multiple locations for over 20 years. Joanne enjoyed sewing, crafting and art, but her greatest love was her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Burleson.

Survivors include her son Joseph Burleson of Forest City; a daughter, Anna Thrift, and fiancé Basil Stacy of Forest City; a brother Michael Burleson and wife Lisa of Forest City; sisters, Brenda Warrick of Mooresboro and Kim Keitt of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ryan Joseph Stacy and Veronica Bailey; the father of her children Lee Thrift and her childhood friend of over sixty years Sharon Allen.

A family officiated memorial service will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at the home of Joseph Burleson at 1331 Chase High Rd, Forest City, NC 28043.
