Jewell Bridges Padgett

Jewell Bridges Padgett, age 81 of Walls Church Road, Ellenboro died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Forest City.  Jewell was born April 16, 1936 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Doc Champion Bridges and Georgia Etta Tessenear Bridges. 

She worked in textiles most of her life and attended Corinth Baptist Church .  Jewell was a loving mother, grandmother , and especially loved her three great-granddaughters.  Her husband,  William Franklin "Bill" Padgett preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Padgett Campbell of Ellenboro, grandson, Brandon Campbell and wife Jessica of Hollis and their three children, Taylor, Cali, and Blakely.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday at the Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 o'clock until the hour of service at the church.   Memorials be made to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.  The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements and an online guest registry is available at www.padgettking.com
