Jerry Ruff

Franklin Jerome “Jerry” Ruff, age 84 of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at his home.  Jerry as he was known, was born on July 21, 1937, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Reverend Wade Franklin Ruff and Carrie Peeler Ruff. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Callahan Ruff who died in 2020.

Jerry was a member of Second Baptist Church, Rutherfordton and he served in the United States Navy.  Jerry was an educator having taught in the Rutherford County Schools for many years.  He taught at Cool Springs Middle, R-S Middle and Ruth Elementary.

Survivors include a son, Jeromy Ruff of Rutherfordton, a brother, Phil Ruff of Rutherfordton, two sisters, Brenda Terry and husband Jake, and Jennifer Richard all of Rutherfordton, a grandson, Kaydin Blake Ruff of Rutherfordton, and a number of nieces and nephews.

No formal services will be held at this time.
