Jeffery “Ox” Scott Bridges, 66, of Inman, SC died Sunday, October 26, 2025 at his home.  Born in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late William Cook Bridges and Rosella Morrow Bridges.  He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and East Tennessee State University where he excelled in football.  He earned All-American honors and served as team captain, but his proudest accomplishment was his family.  Jeff coached football and swimming at the high school level for many years.  He had recently retired from Rutherford County Schools and currently worked at Boiling Springs High School.  He loved to cook and especially loved to grill. He had worked in the family wholesale car business for over twenty five years and was a former gym owner.

Survivors include his wife, Crystal Harris Bridges of the home; his daughters, Allie Bridges, Bonnie Bridges, Jenna Bridges and Fiancé Logan Houser, of Inman, SC; a brother, Richard Bridges of Forest City, NC; a sister, Vicki Bridges Shehan of Rutherfordton, NC and his mother-in-law, Barbara Harris Cromer and husband, Billy.  He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Sadie and Bella and his cat, Sebastian.

A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Forest City Club House.  The family will greet friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford County Schools Backpack Program, 382 West Main Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
