Jean Davis Hardin, age 85, of Forest City died Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills. She was born on May 21, 1936, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Lee and Elizabeth Clements Davis.
Jean was a graduate of Lake Lure High School and a member of First Wesleyan Church of Forest City. She worked for Parker-Hannifin where she retired after many years of service.
A woman of great faith, she shared her love with others, and her love of family was always evident. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Spending time with her family and caring for their needs was important to her, especially her granddaughter, Skylar that was the apple of her eye.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Davis Lanford and her brother, Hal Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Hubert L. Hardin of the home, a son, Joey Hardin and his wife Tracy of Forest City, her granddaughter, Skylar Hardin also of Forest City, a brother, Raymond Davis and Lucia Denney of Rutherfordton, sisters, Kaye Earley of Laurinburg, NC, Carolyn Vess and husband, Harold of Asheville and Elsie Robinson of Old Fort, her lifelong best friend, Martha Searcy Holden of Charlotte as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church with Reverend Eric Yelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o’clock Saturday in the Sanctuary.
