James Ted Guffey

James Ted Guffey, age 74 of Kings Mountain, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at his home. Ted was born June 1, 1947, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late James Crawford Guffey and Georgia Lee Luckadoo Guffey. He was a self-employed car dealer and a lifelong Baptist. Ted was a hard worker and had many talents.  He had a  passion for rescue dogs, which he loved caring for, and he was an excellent cook.

Survivors include his son, James William Guffey and his wife Pamela Hunter Guffey of Greenville, South Carolina, three grandchildren, Mary Beth Stephens and husband Chandler of Clover, South Carolina, James Phillip Guffey and fiancée, Katie Beeson of Greenville, South Carolina and Hunter Caroline Guffey of Orlando, Florida, as well as one great-grandchild, Harper Sydney Stephens and an expectant great-grandchild, Nora Claire Stephens.

A graveside service will be held at 1 o’clock on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Pastor John Lehman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
