Jacob Garrett “Jake” Bright, age 30 of Spindale died Friday, November 7, 2025.  Jake, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on September 28, 1995, in Rutherford County and is the son of Robby and Dana Bright.  Jake was a graduate of Chase High School in the Class of 2014 and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.  Growing up at Bethany the Youth Group was an important part of his life. 

He loved sports, especially golfing, and was a member of the Forest City Municipal Golf Course where he enjoyed playing. He was also a fan of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets. 

Jake loved his family and friends fiercely and he loved every minute spent with them.  He was the life of the party wherever he went and could make anyone laugh.   

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Martha Koone and Bob and Edna Bright, and his aunt, Ronna Koone.

He is survived by his parents, Robby and Dana Koone Bright of Forest City, his brothers, Riley Bright and fiancée, Kristin Hollifield of Bostic, and Hank Bright of Forest City. Jake is also survived by special cousins, Brannon Smith, Bo Elliott, Montana Bright and McCray Bright, as well as many special and close friends that he considered his family. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 o’clock on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Bethany Baptist Church with the Reverend Rodney Queen and Reverend Chris Fox officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
