J. C. Allen Obituary

J. C. Allen, age 80, of Forest City, NC, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at his home.  A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Ed Allen and Carrie Morgan Allen.  J C was a graduate of Harris High School where he met Barbara, his wife of sixty-two years.  He began a long career with Northwestern Bank and served as Vice-president for many years.  He later transitioned to an independent insurance agent and founded the J C Allen Insurance Agency which he operated for twenty years.  He was a ten-year lung cancer survivor and a member of Crestview Baptist Church. J C’s joys in life were his family, friends and the joy he got from helping others.  He loved sports, especially Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry.  His grandchildren were adored by him and he was known to them as “Poppie”

 

Survivors include his wife Barbara Toms Allen of the home; daughters, Pam Allen Jones (Chuck) and Debbie Allen, all of Forest City, NC; grandchildren, Lindsey Jones and Chloe Jones.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Loree Sisk, Maude Harmon, Royal Allen, Carl Allen, Jean Allen, and Jolaine Greene.

 

Graveside services will be held at 2 o'clock on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Kevin Rohm and Reverend Dr. Garin Hill officiating.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service.  Mask and social distancing are requested.  Memorials may be made to Noah’s House c/o Family Resources of Rutherford County, P O Box 1619, Forest City, NC 28043.  The Padgett & King Mortuary & Crematory is serving the Allen family.  Online condolences may be at www.padgettking.com.
