Hugh Toney

Hugh Toney, 68, of Ellenboro, NC, died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at his home.  A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Virgil Toney and Blanche McCurry Toney. Hugh was the owner of Toney’s Tractor Repair, was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was a U S Army Reserve veteran.  He loved farming and working on tractors.

Survivors include his wife Cindy Fincannon Toney, of the home; son, Brian Toney and wife Amanda of Forest City, NC; daughter, Karen Toney Neal of Ellenboro, NC; grandchildren, Alexandra, Emma, and Anna Neal, Charles and William Toney; and a brother, Phil Toney and wife Gail of Bostic, NC.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Doug Toney.

Funeral services will be held two o’clock, Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Concord Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Laflin and Reverend Dr. Jim Whitlow officiating.  Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from six until eight o’clock Tuesday at The Padgett & King Mortuary.  Memorials may be to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P O Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
