Helen Waters Obituary

Mrs. Helen Goins Waters, 88, of Forest City, died Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.  A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Goins and Mamie Sue Causby Goins, and widow of the late Rev. William Earl Waters.  Helen was a homemaker and former textile worker.  She was also a member of Florence Baptist Church, Forest City where she was very active with the Senoir Adults.

Survivors include her sons, Steve Waters and wife Brenda of Gastonia, NC and David Waters and wife Gale of Shelby, NC; a brother, Robert Goins of Rutherfordton, NC, grandchildren, Jaime Helms, Natalie Putnam, Brittany Padgett, Kelly Snow, Justin Waters, and Matt Waters;  great grandchildren, Carleigh Turner, Gray Putnam, Spencer Putnam, Sullivan Putnam, Ryan Snow, Riley Snow and Regan Snow and a special friend, Davis Poplin.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday, July 11th in the Florence Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Union Mills.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday in the narthex of the church.  In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Testa Family Hospice House, 321 Kings Mtn. Blvd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
