Harold Caffell Obituary

FOREST CITY

Harold Lee Caffell Jr, age 85 of Forest City died at his home on Saturday, July 4, 2026.  Harold was born on November 12, 1940 in Portsmouth, Virginia and was a son to the late Harold and Jenny Barr Caffell.

Harold was a dedicated member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church an also a founding elder of Father’s Vinyard.  Above everything he was a loving and devoted father and husband, and a proud grandfather.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He believed in the value of honest and hard work and lived his life that way.  His remarkable work ethic began at just twelve years old where he worked as a paperboy.  From there, he worked jobs as a janitor and stock boy until building a successful career as an electrician before pursuing his passion as a skilled craftsman by establishing his own cabinet-making business.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy “Tinker” Caffell, sister Elizabeth Caffell, and grandsons Sam Caffell and Levi Caffell.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Diane Padgett Caffell of the home; sons, Tim Caffell and wife Rena of Rutherfordton, and Ben Caffell and wife Minnie of Inman, South Carolina; daughter, Brenda Deese and husband Michael of Forest City; grandchildren, Josh Deese and wife Brandie, Emily Molina and husband Joseph, Gabriel Deese, Rachel McDonald and husband Connor, and Noah Caffell; and great-grandchildren, Sophie, Maya and Callie Molina
