Gloria Moreira Sears, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville and is now rejoicing with our Heavenly Father and receiving her eternal reward on the streets of gold.

Gloria was born in Venezuela, South America on November 16, 1940.  In addition to her love for her family, her passions included caring for her beautiful roses, being a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  Anyone that knew Gloria also knew she loved her Japanese and Mexican dishes and the Forest City Fish Camp.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James Ray Sears, Sr., and her daughter, Sandra Sears Wright, and her brother, Carlos. 

She is survived by her son, James Ray Sears, Jr., her daughters, Shirley Ann Rich (Jack), Sharon Lee Sears (Kim), her grandchildren, Dustan Haney (Samantha), Ryan Sears (Kalie), Danielle Haney, Jamie Sears (Andrew), Lee Ann Vidal (Daniel), and Shellby Raye Sears (Devin); great-grandchildren, Aaron, Scarlett, Ruth, Gray, Grant, Ladavious, Bentley, McKinley, Merrae, Dani, Ozias, Ren, Donnie, and Tallulah. She also is survived by her brother Manuel, and sisters, Gladys, Mercedes, and Eladia.  

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, celebrated by The Reverend Father Herbert Burke.  Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.  There will be a viewing in the Narthex from 11 o’clock until the time of the Mass.
