Gleena Jenkins Bright, age 82, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Fairhaven Home of Bostic.  She was the daughter of the late Jack and Geneva Jenkins.  Gleena was retired from Bethany Baptist Church where she served as Secretary/Clerk for 31 years.  She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she was previously involved in WMU and Adult Choir.  She was known for her beautiful alto voice and sang numerous duets and trios over her many years there.  She went on multiple Mission trips with the Bethany Mission Team.

Gleena was an avid gardener who loved taking care of her plants and flowers.  She also loved birds and spent hours watching a variety of birds come to her feeders every day.     

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Max Bright, in December of 2024.  

Survivors include her daughter, Starr Bright Morrow and husband Randy, her son, Brannon Bright, and a sister, Debbie Robbins, all of Forest City.  There are three grandchildren: Montana Bright, Mckenzie Morrow LeNoir and husband Joe, and McCray Bright as well as one great-grandchild, Levi LeNoir.   

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, August 9 at 12 o’clock noon in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery with Pastors Chris Fox and Lane Goff officiating. The family will have an informal receiving of friends following the service.  

Anyone wishing to view the body and pay their respects may come to Padgett & King Mortuary on Friday, August 8th between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 PM.
