Gerald Hamrick

Gerald Ray Hamrick, age 84 of Ellenboro died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his residence.  Gerald was born on October 22, 1938, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Winfred and Eva Griffin Hamrick. 

Gerald was a graduate of Ellenboro High School in the Class of 1957, and graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee.  He was also a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was a talented mechanic that loved his work and retired from Truck Service after many years service.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hawkins Hamrick who died in 2017 and his son, Don Hamrick in 2009.

Survivors include his son, Shane Hamrick and wife Chelly of Cherryville, his brother, Charles Hamrick of Ellenboro, grandson, Matt Hamrick, step-grandchildren, Joy Fussell and Nathan Kniceley as well as a great-grandson, Jase Hamrick.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock on Friday, September 15, 2023, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Bruce Duncan officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 on Thursday evening at Padgett and King.
