Geneva Jenkins Obituary

Geneva Drum Jenkins, age 92 of Forest City died Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Fairhaven Home of Bostic.   Geneva was born July 2, 1926 in Hickory, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late George Ivey Drum and Grace Hedrick Drum.  Geneva was a member of Race Path Baptist Church and she was retired from the Rutherford County School System.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education and graduated Cum Laude from Western Carolina University in 1979 by attending night classes. 

Geneva was a cancer survivor and a tireless worker for the American Cancer Society for many years.  She was also very active in the Women's Auxiliary for Gideon's International.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jenkins in 2014.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Robbins and husband Larry, Gleena Bright and husband Max all of Forest City, three grandchildren, Sherri Kennedy, Starr Morrow, and Brannon Bright, six great-grandchildren, Deborah Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, John Kennedy, Montana Bright, Mckenzie Morrow and McCray Bright.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Race Path Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Cooper, Reverend John Godfrey, and Reverend Chris Fox officiating.    Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 Tuesday in the church Sanctuary.
