Garland Hoppes

William Garnold “Garland” Hoppes, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, September 21,2022 at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Bostic, NC.  Garland was born on October 2, 1938 and was the son of the late Malvin and Essie Dellinger Hoppes.  He was a 1958 graduate of Ellenboro High School and retired from Cone Mills after more than 30 years of service.  Garland became a Christian and was baptized as a child.  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Ellenboro, NC.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Owens and a brother, ZB Hoppes.

Survivors include his faithful and loving wife, Judy Hunsinger Hoppes of 64 years.  He had 3 children: 2 daughters, Kim Limerick and husband Scott of Shelby, NC; Crystal Cheney and husband, David of Seneca, SC and one son, Scott Hoppes and wife Darla of Shingle Hollow, NC.  He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

There will be a private family funeral.
