Francis Raymond Rutkowski

Francis Raymond “Frank” Rutkowski, age 89 of Spindale, North Carolina died Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills.  Frank, as he was known was born on August 9, 1932, in Amsterdam, New York and was a son of the late Frank and Eudora Coussans Rutkowski. 

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Patterson Rutkowski, a daughter Lori Rutkowski and son Michael Rutkowski.

Frank was of the Catholic faith, and he served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict as well as serving in the Navy Reserve. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal and National Defense Medal. 

Frank was a salesman having worked in both Manufactured Housing and Automobile sales.  He was also a talented mechanic and he enjoyed restoring and repairing old cars.

He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Sidna Sampson, a son, Frank S. Rutkowski and wife Susan, his daughter, Cynthia Paeno and husband Thomas, his brother, David Rutkowski and wife Kathy, as well as five grandchildren and Sidna’s four children.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Chaplain Denise Brill officiating.   Military Honors will be accorded on the chapel lawn following the service. 

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
