Frances Jolley Obituary

Frances Clayton Jolley, age 97 of Forest City died Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Hospice House in Forest City.  She was born on December 31, 1927, in Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late William and Mamie Greene Clayton.    

Frances attended Cool Springs School and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker and in years past she was a volunteer at Rutherford Hospital Gift Shop as well as at Hospice and Hospice Resale Shop.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney F. Jolley, her infant son, Roy Steven Jolley, and her son, Doug Jolley.

Survivors include her daughters, Kay Jolley Conner and husband Keith, and Connie Jolley Melton all of Forest City, her five grandchildren, Jennifer Bennett, Brian Conner, Kelly Edmonds, Mike Conner, and Steven Jolley along with 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. 

A private graveside service will be held for the family.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.

The family will be at the home on Tanners Grove Road.
