Fletcher L. Bryson Obituary

Fletcher Lee Bryson, age 81 of Bostic, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  Bryson was born on October 5, 1943, in Jackson County, North Carolina and was a son of the late Dewey Lee Bryson, Sr., and Edith Hyatt Leatherman. 

Bryson was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and he had worked for Eaton Corporation before his retirement.  He never met a stranger and could start a conversation with most anyone.  He and his wife enjoyed the Atlanta Braves and traveling to watch them play in Atlanta and on mountain trips. 

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carol Jean Bryson of the home, his daughters, Regeana Bryson Word and husband Ron of Tryon, Lynn Bryson McGinnis and husband Josh of Bostic, and his sister, Janie Young of Belmont, North Carolina.  There are also eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Reverend Stephen Matheny officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service in the Sanctuary.
