Gene Shehan, 77, of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Fair Haven Home, Bostic.  Born in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late Dock Shehan and Truly Bennett Shehan.  Gene worked for many years for Stonecutter Mills Corporation and later for Walmart. 

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ann Blanton Shehan; his son, Chris Shehan (Ursula) of Simpsonville, SC; his daughter, Karen Duncan (Mark) of Forest City, NC; grandchildren, Josh Duncan, Sarah Shehan, Anna Duncan, and Jason Shehan, and his sister, Debbie Georges of Piedmont, SC.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025 in the Padgett & King Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief Fund for Rutherford County, c/o RHI Legacy Foundation, P O Box 352, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
