Elizabeth Higgins Morgan age 97 of Marion, North Carolina and formally of Bostic, North Carolina died Friday morning July 23, 2021 at the Trinity Elms Health and Rehab Center in Clemmons.
Born May 24,1924 in Bostic, she was the daughter of the late Willie Neal McKeithan and Boyd L. Higgins. She graduated from Cool Springs High School and attended Mars Hill College for one year. She worked for a number of years in the Rutherford County Tax Collectors Office, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bostic for 66 years and was currently a member the Glenwood Baptist Church of Marion, North Carolina where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir and also organized the Senior Citizens Groups at both churches. She was also a member and officer of the Eastern Star and the Amaranth for 27 years. She loved working in her garden and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Worth Morgan in 2004 and three brothers, Billy Higgins, Max Higgins and Andy Higgins.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Russell Radford of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Jane and Hugh Proctor of Marion, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jonathan Radford, Ginny Radford Walton and husband, Jason, Crystal Proctor deBettencourt and husband, Bryan, Rhett Proctor and wife Sarah; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Radford, Reese Walton, Carter Walton, Allie Proctor, Gage Proctor , Alex deBettencourt and Seppy deBettencourt.
A Service from the Graveside will be held Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 2 o’clock at the Bostic Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Dennis Love officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
