Doyle Corwin Obituary

Doyle Raymond Corwin, age 80, of Forest City died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his residence following a sudden illness.  Doyle was born June 2, 1938 in Haywood County, NC and was a son of the late Owen Raymond Corwin and Helen Doane Corwin.  He was a graduate of Spencer High School in Spencer NC and attended Western-Carolina University.  Doyle worked for Owens-Illinois in Salisbury for many years before being transferred to Pactive in Rutherford County where he retired.  Following retirement, he worked for David Allen Construction. He enjoyed wood working and camping .   

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Leslie Greene who died in 2017, a brother, Donald Corwin and sister, Ruth Whitman.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Smith Corwin, a daughter, Cheryl Heatherly and husband Ralph of Forest City, two sons, Jeff Corwin and wife Susie of Honor , Michigan, Greg Corwin and wife Tracey of Flowery Branch, Georgia, son-in-law,Bruce Greene of Rutherfordton.  There are also 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and his dog, Bam Bam.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday in the Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating.   The family will receive friends in the sanctuary from 3 until 4 o'clock prior to the service.  Interment will be held privately in Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.
