Dorothy Baynard Grose

Dorothy Baynard "Dot" Grose, age 95 of Forest City died Friday, August 9, 2019 at Fairhaven Home in Bostic.  Dot was born March 30, 1924 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Kinard Tilman Baynard and Lillian Saunders Baynard. 

She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Forest City where she had served on various committees.  Dot was a Registered Nurse and attended the Medical College of Virginia and did her formal training at the Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated.   Dot worked as a nurse for Dr. William Elliott, a longtime Forest City physician and later for Doctors England and Godfrey where she retired at the age of eighty.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Grose of Ellenboro as well as a number of nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at  2 o'clock on Sunday, August 25, 2019 in the First Presbyterian Church of Forest City with Reverend Kitty Tompkins officiating.  Visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
