Doris Jean Smith, age 92 of Chesnee, South Carolina, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  Doris was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on February 5, 1933, and was a daughter of the late William Grayson Smith, Sr., and Elsie Mae Brannon Smith.

Doris was a lifelong Baptist, and she was a gifted homemaker.  She enjoyed working in her garden and home. Doris was a true housekeeper, and her home was always in perfect order.  She enjoyed welcoming guests into her home.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Wayne Smith in 2015, her brother, William Smith, Jr., and her sisters, Sarah Jenkins, Etruelia Coker, and Grace Fisher.

Survivors include her sons, Stephen Smith (Brenda) of Bostic, Kent Smith (Tami) of Chesnee, South Carolina, and her sister, Dorothy S. Grindstaff of Forest City.  There are four grandchildren, Cassie Smith, Laura Smith, Heather Smith, and Brannon Smith, as well as one great-grandchild, Elijah Thompson.

A service from the graveside will be held at 1 o'clock on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor John Mitchell.  The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
