Don Roberson

Donald Harris Roberson, age 85 of Forest City, died Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his home.  Don was born on August 29, 1937 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Lewis Marcellus Roberson and Violet Harris Roberson.   Don was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and a United States Army Veteran.  In 1972 he established Forest City Heating and Air which he operated until his retirement and his son assumed management of the business.  Many homes in Forest City and the county have been served by Don over the years.  He enjoyed sports and was a former ball coach as well as an avid car enthusiast. 

His sister, Kay Roberson Blanton and his brother, Greg Roberson preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Bo Roberson and wife Christy, his daughter, Heather Roberson White and husband Brian all of Cliffside, his brother, Steve “Punk” Roberson and wife Beckie of Forest City, his sisters, Gail Roberson Garrison of Muriel’s Inlet, SC, and Vicky Roberson Rich of Bostic.  There are also six grandchildren, Tyler White, Blair Pruett, Abbey Roberson, Isaac Roberson, Rebecca Roberson and Maddux Roberson, as well as two great-grandchildren, Katy Ruth Pruett and Nolan Pruett.

At his request there will be a gathering of family and friends at Cliffside Park on NC Highway 120 in Cliffside on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 11 until 1 pm. All are welcome to come and (bring your ball glove) to celebrate his life.  At other times, the family will be at the home on Washington Street, Forest City where friends are welcome to come and share with the family.
