Dock Walter King, Sr

Dock Walter King, Sr, age 86 of Forest City, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Hospice House in Forest City.  Dock was born April 25, 1934 in Cleveland County and was a son of the late Robert Clifton “R.C” King and Bertha S. Willis. 

He was a truck driver for many years working for Davis Oil Company and later Petroleum World.  He also owned Dock King Furnace Repair where he had many loyal customers.  Dock was generous to his family, neighbors and community and could always be found giving away food to those in need.  He was also a former member of Wilson Baptist Church.

Dock was preceded in death by his wives, Gail Frances Watts and Jeanette Lewis King, his daughters, Miranda Gail King, Myra Pauline King, a granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Jarrell as well as his brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his children, Dock Walter King, Jr of Star City, Arkansas, Burwell Ray King of Rutherfordton, James Clifton King of Forest City, and daughter, Bertha King West of Union Mills.  There are also eighteen grandchildren and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held for his immediate family.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
