Dewey Eugene Thrift

Dewey Eugene Thrift, age 78 of Ellenboro, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills.  Dewey was born March 8, 1942 in Gaffney, South Carolina and was a son of the late Joseph Woodrow Thrift and Reba K. Powell Thrift.  He worked in textiles for Burlington Industries and was a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church where he was active in church activities. He enjoyed participation in the church Corn Hole Tournament where he was champion. He was a fine example of a Christian man. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Faye Thrift.

Survivors include his sons, Dewey Lee Thrift of Ellenboro, James Gene Thrift of Mooresboro, and Donald Ray Thrift of Forest City, a brother, Joe Lee Thrift of Forest City and sister, Juanita Toney of Forest City.  There are also three grandchildren, Anna Marie Thrift, Curtis Thrift, and Veronica Bailey as well as a great-grandson, Joseph Ryan Stacy.

The family will hold private funeral services at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk officiating.  For information on times, please contact the family directly.
