Delmas Dodson

James Delmas Dodson, Jr., age 59 of Ellenboro died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Carolinas Health Care-Cleveland in Shelby.  He is now in the arms of his loving savior after an extended illness.  Delmas was born on June 14, 1959 and is the son of J.D. and Rose Mary Morgan Dodson of Ellenboro.  He was a diesel mechanic by trade and was a graduate of East Rutherford High School in the Class of 1977 where he was active in the FFA and was a lifelong member of the Corinth Baptist Church. 

Delmas was a loving and devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He truly cherished his family and spending time with them.  He enjoyed farming, tractors, and farm equipment.  One of his greatest joys was working on tractors. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Nancy B. Dodson of the home, three sons, James Charles Dodson and wife, Aparna Bamzai-Dodson of Fort Collins, CO, Edward Everhart and wife Cathy of Boiling Springs, NC, Michael Everhart and wife Dana of Dallas, NC, two daughters, Tiffany Dodson-Greene and husband Jerry of Ellenboro, and Kayleigh Buffaloe and husband Jacob of Boiling Springs, NC.  There are also five grandchildren, Addison Riley Greene, Caden Jamison Greene, Adalie Grace Everhart, Rhett Loren Everhart, and Brayden Isaiah Buffaloe.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Conner, Reverend Dr. Dave Jendrey and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday evening at Padgett and King.
