Danny Mellon Obituary

Danny Ray Mellon, age 65 of Forest City died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City. Danny was born August 31, 1955 in Catawba County, North Carolina was a furniture factory worker for many years. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was preceded in death by his daughter, DeLynn Mellon.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Mellon of the home, sons, Danny Eckard of Reidsville, NC, Joseph Conner of Forest City and Jeremy Coffey of Forest City, a daughter, Shannon Eckard of Hickory, NC and step-daughter, Joy Terry of Forest City. There are also a number of brothers and sisters as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will hold a memorial service at Chase Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 o’clock with Reverend Scott Butler officiating.

The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of cremation arrangements for the family.
