Obituary
Dannie L. Gettys, 75, of Forest City, NC, died Friday, December 31, 2021 at his home. Born in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Johnny Gettys and Addie McCombs Stacey. He worked in textiles for many years as a loom fixer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Gettys.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Head Gettys, of the home; son, Duane Gettys (LuAnn) and daughter Johnnie Rector (Chris), all of Rutherfordton, NC, son, Jerry Gettys ( Frankie) of Caroleen, NC; grandchildren, Dillion Gettys, Chance Rector, Kaitlin Callahan and Ethan Rector; and great grandchildren, Callie Gettys, Colton Gettys, Corbyn Gettys and Jackson Ward.
No formal services are planned for Mr. Gettys. The Padgett & King Mortuary and Crematory is serving the Gettys family. Online condolences may be made at www.padgettking.com.
