Claude Luther Street, Jr.

Claude Luther Street, Jr. age 78 of Forest City died Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Hospice House in Forest City.  Claude was born on April 2, 1945, in Rutherford County.  He was a lifelong Baptist and served his country in the United States Air Force.  Claude was the owner and operator of Street’s Tire and Wrecker Service until his retirement.  He loved watching westerns and NASCAR racing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Stewart Street, his son, Jeff Street, a brother, Cecil Street and sister, Pearl Hill.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Pat Street, his son, Greg Street and wife Kim of Forest City, his grandson, Austin Street and wife Meredith of Forest City, his great-granddaughter, Marlowe James Street, and a great-grandson, Mason Brian Street due in August, his sister, Shirley Bowen of Forest City, his best friend and faithful visitor, Dannie Price and a Fur baby, T-Bo who kept Claude entertained. 

A service from the graveside will be held at 11 o’clock on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with the Reverend Sammy Crain officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.  For those wishing to pay their respects, he will lie in state from 1 until 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at The Padgett and King Mortuary.
