Christopher Dale Jolly, 49, went home to be with his Lord on September 3, 2024, at Hospice House in Forest City.  He was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina and was a resident of Orlando, Florida.  He was born to Roger Dale Jolly and the late Theresa Nanney Jolly.

He was a graduate of Chase High School, Isothermal Community College, UNC Wilmington, and Graphic Design School in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Forest City.  Chris was talented in many ways and used his talents in pursuing his hobbies.  He loved to skateboard, play baseball, and surf.  Surfing became a real passion, and he practiced it well into his twenties while attending college in Wilmington.  He also became quite proficient in building car stereo systems.

Chris enjoyed a varied working life both in the fields of science and the arts.  He worked for five years as a scientist with an environmental testing firm in Wilmington.  The remaining part of his career, some 22 years, were spent in the entertainment business.  He worked in computer graphic lighting for movie company giants such as Disney, Dreamworks and Blue Sky Studios.  His movie resume included over 30 movies and led him to live in Atlanta, Georgia; California cities of Los Angeles, San Clemente, and San Francisco; White Plains, New York and Dallas, Texas.  His latest job was Director of Lighting for a company in Orlando, Florida where he worked in the field of virtual reality.

He is survived by his precious son, Lucas Dale Jolly of the home; his father, Roger Jolly (Sherry); sister, Jennifer Huskey (Jeremy); nieces, Kinsley and Karsyn Huskey; and nephews Konnor and Kamden Huskey; aunts, Karen Webb (Mike), Dara Hooper (Allen), Lynn Toney (Gerald), and Cathie Keimeier, as well as his many cousins who all loved him.

The Funeral service will be held at the Padgett & King Mortuary chapel at 11 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with Reverend Chris Fox officiating.   Burial will be private for the family at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.       The family will not hold a formal time of visitation but will instead be at their respective homes for those that may wish to visit.
