Charline Randall Newton, age 72 of Forest City, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at her residence. Born June 14, 1948 in Rutherford County. Charline was the daughter of the late Charles Randall and Pauline Epley Randall.
Charline was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She worked for Stonecutter Mills for twenty-five years until its closure. At the age of 62, Charline decided to continue her education earning an associate’s degree in early childhood development from ICC. She was a faithful and hard worker and enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks. She also coached girl’s Little League softball.
Charline was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William Russell Newton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Randall.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey T. Newton and wife Tina; two daughters, Shelley Roach and husband Terry; and Crystal Newton; two sisters, Doris Odom and Diane Arrowood; a sister-in-law, Regina Randall; grandchildren, Brittany Clement and husband Ty, Tyler Roach and wife Emily, Noah Herring and Jerzi Newton; and great-grandchildren, James Clement and Kennedy K. Clement.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock Monday, February 22, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Roach and Reverend Paul Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm the Sanctuary prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are requested.
