Charles Lancaster

Charles Winfred Lancaster, age 75 of Forest City died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his home.  Charles was born in Rutherford County on December 21, 1947, and was a son of the late O.L. and Irene Mildred Waldrop Lancaster.  He was a lifelong Baptist and worked in textiles.  He worked for many years with Burlington Industries at the J. C. Cowan Plant and later at Reeves Brothers where he retired as a Maintenance Supervisor.  Charles was a veteran having served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Moore Lancaster as well as sisters, Brenda Price, and Betty Thompson.

Survivors include his son, Anthony Lancaster and wife Starr of Inman, South Carolina, his brother, Wayne Lancaster of Yadkinville, North Carolina, and his three grandchildren, Vivienne Lancaster, Kaydence Lancaster, and Brandon Lancaster.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Dan Durbin officiating.  Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park where military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service at the mortuary.
