Cathy Denise Shell

Cathy Denise Shell, age 62 , a resident of Fairhaven, Forest City died Wednesday August 14, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  She was born October 17, 1956 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Max and Dorothy Goforth Shell.  She was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church and she worked with Rutherford Life Services for forty years.  Cathy loved to sing, was always smiling, and never met a stranger.  She was preceded in death by her brother Doug Shell.

Survivors include a brother, Gene Shell and wife Kim of Forest City, a sister, Andrea Lynn and husband David of Mooresboro, a sister-in-law Sharon Shell of Forest City, twelve nieces and nephews and twenty-one great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at three o’clock Friday, August 16, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Mack Tester officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45pm at the church.  The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements and an online guest registry is available at www.padgett-king.com
