Catherine "Cathy" Donnelly, age 81, of Forest City, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Atrium Health Cleveland.  Cathy was born on December 17, 1941, in St. Augustine, Florida, and was the daughter of Baxter Carn, Jr. and Juanita Robinson Carn.   

Cathy moved her family to Forest City in 1985 and worked as the Customer Service Manager for AFA corporation until her retirement.  The family was Cathy’s life, and as the matriarch, she enjoyed her time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Along with spending time with her family, Cathy enjoyed a nice glass of wine, visiting local wineries and shopping.  She was of the Presbyterian faith and attended First Presbyterian Church in Forest City. 

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her special grandmother Dorothy Allen, and her brother Joseph Chamberlain. 

Surviving are her daughters Melissa Laws (Andrew) of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Tiffany Sparks of Ruther Glen, Virginia.  A sister, Sue Hickman (Charles) of Springfield, Louisiana.  Grandchildren Summer Birch (Randy) of Shelby, North Carolina; Ryleigh Sparks of Ruther Glen, Virginia; Maggie Laws and Jake Laws both of West Chester, Pennsylvania.  Great-grandchildren Peyton and Tegan Birch, both of Shelby, North Carolina. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, beginning at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at The Padgett & King Chapel.
