Brian Elliott Edwards, age 50, of Spindale, North Carolina, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at his home.  Brian was born May 23, 1972, to Weldon and Rose Burnette Edwards.  He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and attended UNC-Asheville.   He was employed as the Office Manager of Ohmstead Plumbling Company.  Brian enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea, and trout, and he was a PADI certified diver that enjoyed diving in  North Carolina and the Caribbean.  He was a founding member of the Southeast Binder Association scouting organization and a member of First Baptist Church, Spindale, NC. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Darlene Edwards of the home; his son Matthew McCrary and wife, Georgia of Sneads Ferry; his daughter Brittney Edwards of Spindale; brothers Eric Edwards and wife Lisa of Bostic and Evan Edwards of Forest City; nephews, Elijah Edwards, Hunter Edwards, Skylar Edwards, Samuel Timmons, and Josh Timmons; nieces, Alyssa Edwards, Autumn Edwards, Delaney Brown, and Lauren Tyler; great-nephews Easton Edwards and Beau Edwards; mother-in-law, Dorothy Upton, and sisters-in-law, Angela Brown and Beth Timmons.  Brian was preceded in death by his niece Ashley Tyler in 2022.    In addition to his family, he is survived by a lifelong friend, Eric Ohmstead of Rutherfordton.  

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 pm Sunday, February 19th in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church, Spindale.  A service to celebrate Brian’s life will follow at 4 pm.
