Brenda Kay (Martin) McFarland

Brenda Kay Martin McFarland, age 76 of Ellenboro died Friday, June 19, 2026, at her home.  Brenda was born on October 30, 1949, in Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late Hubert and Florence Lewis Martin.  She worked for Street’s Insurance Agency in the office where she retired. 

She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and was a member of M&T Ministries. She recently had been attending Temple of Victory with her granddaughter. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Junior) McFarland, her sons, Craig McFarland, and Mark McFarland, her great-granddaughter, Madilynn Kay Hardy, and her sister, Deborah Tesseneer.

Survivors include her daughter, Melody M. Miller, and husband Paul of Ellenboro, her sister, Margie Smith of Forest City. There are 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Friday, June 26, 2026, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Scott Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at M&T ministries Cemetery, Forest City.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service at the Mortuary.
