Brenda Luckadoo

Brenda Kay Blackwell Luckadoo, 77, of Forest City died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.  Brenda was born on March 18, 1946, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Thurmond and Lola Honeycutt Blackwell.   She was a homemaker and until her health declined was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church for more than fifty years.  The church and church family were important to Brenda, and she had a passion for both local and foreign missions.  She was a former Sunday School teacher, worked with the church youth and served on various committees.  Brenda went to the Ukraine on four different mission trips in years past.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Larry M. Luckadoo, her son, Steve Luckadoo and wife Tracy of Forest City, a daughter, Ginger Parris of Ocala, FL, her sister, Beverly Blackwell Hicks of Myrtle Beach, SC .  There are three grandchildren, Logan and Laney Luckadoo, Lauren Moore and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Bethany Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Fox and Reverend Marvin Greene officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock in the Sanctuary prior to the service.
