Brenda Jones Ellenburg

Brenda Jones Ellenburg, age 83 of Buford, Georgia died Friday, September 29, 2023.  Brenda was a former resident of Forest City.  She was born on June 7, 1940, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Thomas Allen Jones and Reida Smith Jones. 

Brenda was a member of Florence Baptist Church and a graduate of Cool Springs High School in the Class of 1958.  She worked for The Hartford Insurance Company as a Supervisor Claims Adjuster until her retirement. She also loved her grand-dogs, Hash Brown and Sweet Potato.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Jones Clark and brother, Curt Jones.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Ellenburg of the home, her daughter, Sandy Ellenburg Thompson and husband Alan of Buford, GA, brother, Tom Jones and wife Judy  of Shelby, and her sister, Ginny Jones Pitman and husband Tommy of Forest City. 

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Daniel Selman officiating.  Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary.
