Boyce F. Grindstaff

Boyce F. Grindstaff, 89, of Forest City, died Friday, April 5, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  Born in Avery County, NC, he was the son of the late Ervin and Ruth Price Grindstaff.  Boyce was the CEO of Grindstaff’s Interiors where he enjoyed a wonderful career providing furnishings to many people locally, across the United States and internationally.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Forest City where he was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for over forty years.  Boyce also served on numerous committees at his church, with two that were special to him.  He served as chairman of the building renovation committee while Dr. Albert Young served as pastor.  He and his wife Dorothy also graciously provided financial support to establish the television ministry.  He loved serving his church for many years.  Boyce had also served as a member and secretary of the Gardner-Webb University Board of Trustees, as a board member of Northwestern Bank, and was a member of Forest City Masonic Lodge #381, AF & AM.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Grindstaff Easler, and sisters, Barbara Whitehurst and Carolyn Barbee.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Smith Grindstaff of the home, daughters, Tammy Grindstaff McCracken and husband Rodney of Forest City, and Sonjia Grindstaff Brand and husband Andy of Spartanburg, SC; son-in-law, Russ Easler of Spartanburg, SC; his grandchildren, Mark McCracken and fiancé Nikki Crawford, Jeff McCracken and wife Sarah, Lindsay Lehn and husband Phillip, Brandon Easler, Taylor Easler and fiancé Courtney Smith, Alex Brand, Mackenzie Buonopane and husband Charles, Jr and Anneliese Brand;  great grandchildren, Caleb Crain, Ty McCracken, Michael Crawford, and Wesley Buonopane and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at one o’clock on Monday, April 8, 2024 in the First Baptist Church, Forest City with Reverend Dr. Garin Hill and Reverend Dr. L. Joey Faucette officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the family fellowship hall.  Interment will be in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City.  Memorials may be made to the television ministry of First Baptist Church, 211 W Main St, Forest City, NC 28043 or to the Carolina Foothills  Foundation, P O Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.  The Padgett & King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.padgettking.com.
