Bobby William Laughter

Bobby William "Bob" Laughter, age 90 of Forest City died Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Hospice House in Forest City.  Bob was born on July 19, 1932, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Roscoe and Willie Gray Earwood Laughter.  He retired from Yelton Milling Company in Spindale where he worked for many years as a salesman.   

Bob was a man of God, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Spindale where he served as a Deacon.  He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the former Spindale Masonic Lodge and later the Western Star Lodge No. 91 AF&AM as well as a Shriner. Bob was an avid golfer and he enjoyed exercising with his friends at Lifestyles Fitness.  He was also a member of the American Legion.   

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Frances Taylor Laughter, his daughter, Crystal Laughter Horn and husband Terry of Ellenboro, his brother, Graydean Laughter of Forest City, his grandchildren, Heather Horn Curtis and husband Brannon of Forest City and Haley Horn Brooks and husband Garrett of Ellenboro.  There are also two great-grandchildren, Grayson Curtis and Miller Brooks, and an expectant great-grandchild, Griffin Curtis.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Allen Hall officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock prior to the service.  Interment will be private.
